Darlene's Display Problem.

Hi Doc,
My 89 240zx has been experiencing a consistent problem. The dash light (to the speedometer >and instrument cluster) do not light up until 15-20 minutes of travel. It seems that this may be >related to some heat sensor. If I turn on the engine after it had a chance of cooling for about 5 >minutes, it takes a few minutes before the dash lights come back on. I have one of those >widshield speedometer display system. Any thoughts about this problem??.

Have you been back to a Nissan Dealer with the latest fix for the situation? There is possibly a bulletin for this situation in Dealer Tech Information only. When I worked at the Datsun/Nissan Dealer we got Technical Service Bulletins, and we would communicate with the Engineers about the problems that we encountered. I myself, am not aware of any situation, I assume that you are refering to the "Heads Up Display". It is possible that there is some corrosion in a connector or the lamp that facilitates the display. I hope that this helps you..

280Z Dies SudenlyTravis here(Zonc #98029), in Fresno. I have a problem with my 1977 280z which I can not figure out. It started today. Just driving down the road the car shut off, I disengaged the clutch and it started right back up. I drove it home only about a mile. Tonight I drove it to FSU and it shut off 3 times on the way there, while it was cold and running at temp. I just hooked up a test light to the fuel pump and drove the car. The light is inline with the pump so when the pump is getting power the light is on.
