There are quite a number of variables that determine the limits for tire/wheel width and each combination has its own limit due to ride height among other things.. Doc here, you need to check out the looks of the wheels on my 1970 240Z has 16x7" rims with 225x50x16 Brigestones on it with zero offset. This set up with rolling the inner wheel wells I can install my cables too if necessary. I am pretty sure that the 8 1/2 wide rims will hit the suspension or fender wells. I have a similar setup with ST's Sport Springs and sway bars and adjustable Tokico Luminas.. The next best advice that I can give you is to go for the new wheels and not used ones.
